The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
