The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
