The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
