The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
