The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
