The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and so am I: 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
