The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
