The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
