Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
