The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And no trifle. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
