The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 and so am I: 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
