The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
