Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
