The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is no merriment. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
