The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
