The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
