The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
