The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
