The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
