The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
