The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is no merriment. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
