The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
