The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
