The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and so am I: 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
