The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
