The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 The One Who created, and then made proper. 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 who brings forth green pasture, 4 then turns it into black stubble. 5 We shall enable thee to recite, and then thou shalt not forget, 6 Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; 7 We shall ease thee unto the Easing. 8 Therefore remind, if the Reminder benefits, 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 but aloof from it will remain that most hapless wretch 11 who will roast in the Great Fire, 12 in which he will neither die nor live therein. 13 Prosperous is he who purifies himself, 14 And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allah), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawafil additional prayers). 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 Though the life to come is better and abiding. 17 Verily! This is in the former Scriptures, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
