The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 who created all things and gave them due proportions, 2 decreed their destinies, and provided them with guidance. 3 Who brings out the pastures 4 then turns it into black stubble. 5 We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, 6 Except what Allah wills; indeed He knows all the evident and all the concealed. 7 We shall ease you to follow the way of Ease. 8 So remind them if reminder is profitable: 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 but it will be ignored by the most unfortunate, 11 He will be cast into the Great Fire. 12 Then he will neither die in it, nor live. 13 He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 But the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 This indeed is what is taught in the former scriptures -- 18 the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
