The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ GLORIFY THE NAME of your Lord, most high, 1 who creates [every thing,] and thereupon forms it in accordance with what it is meant to be, 2 and who determines the nature [of all that exists,] and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment,] 3 who brings forth green pasture, 4 then caused it to wither away. 5 We shall now make you read (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), so you will not forget. 6 Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden. 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 Wherefore admonish thou; admonition hath surely profited, 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 But the wretched one will avoid it - 11 who will enter the Great Fire, 12 Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 No; but you prefer the present life, 16 even though the life hereafter will be better and will last forever. 17 Verily this is in Writs ancient 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
