Al-A'alaa
The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Proclaim the Purity of your Lord, the Supreme. 1 who has created and shaped, 2 and who determines the nature [of all that exists,] and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment,] 3 The One Who produced pasture. 4 then caused it to wither away. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 except whatever God wills; He knows both what is manifest and what is hidden -- 7 And We shall create the means of ease for you. 8 Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them). 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 Who will burn in the terrible Fire, 12 Then he will neither die in it, nor live. 13 He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself 14 And who mentioned the name of his Lord, then offered prayer. 15 But you prefer the life of this world, 16 Whereas the Hereafter is better and everlasting. 17 Surely, this is in the ancient Scrolls, 18 the revelations of Abraham and Moses. 19
