The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High, 1 Who creates and proportions, 2 who determines the nature [of all that exists], and guided it accordingly; 3 And Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble. 5 WE SHALL teach thee, and thou wilt not forget [aught of what thou art taught,] 6 except whatever God wills; He knows both what is manifest and what is hidden -- 7 We shall make all your tasks easy. 8 So remind, if the reminder should benefit; 9 He who fears [God] will heed the reminder, 10 but aloof from it will remain that most hapless wretch 11 He who will be flung to the great Fire 12 Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). 13 Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 No; but you prefer the present life, 16 but the Everlasting Life is better, and more enduring. 17 This is surely in the earlier Books, 18 The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa. 19
