The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Proclaim the Purity of your Lord, the Supreme. 1 Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 And Who brings forth herbage, 4 Then reduces them to rusty rubbish. 5 We shall make you recite and then you will not forget, 6 Except what Allah pleases, surely He knows the manifest, and what is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy unto thee the easy way. 8 So remind them if reminder is profitable: 9 He who fears will mind, 10 But the most hapless will flout it, 11 he who [in the life to come] shall have to endure the great fire 12 Then he will neither die in it, nor live. 13 Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, 14 And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allah), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawafil additional prayers). 15 But ye prefer the life of the world 16 Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Indeed this is in the former scriptures. 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
