Al-A'alaa
The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 Who creates and proportions, 2 Who measureth, then guideth; 3 Who brought forth the pasture, 4 and thereupon causes it to decay into rust-brown stubble! 5 We shall now make you read (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), so you will not forget. 6 save what God wills; surely He knows what is spoken aloud and what is hidden. 7 We shall ease thee unto the Easing. 8 Therefore remind, if the Reminder benefits, 9 Those who fear will understand. 10 but the most wretched shall flout it, 11 who will roast in the Great Fire, 12 then he shall neither die therein, nor live. 13 Indeed successful is the one who became pure. 14 And mentions the name of his Lord and prays. 15 Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world; 16 Whereas the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 This is surely in the earlier Books, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
