The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who createth, then disposeth; 2 and who determines the nature [of all that exists,] and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment,] 3 And Who brings forth herbage, 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget, 6 unless God wills it to be otherwise. He knows all that is made public and all that remains hidden. 7 And We will ease you toward ease. 8 Therefore, keep on preaching as long as it is of benefit. 9 Soon whoever fears will heed advice. 10 but it will be ignored by the most unfortunate, 11 even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, 12 where he will neither die nor live. 13 But those will prosper who purify themselves, 14 and remembers his Sustainer's name, and prays [unto Him]. 15 But you prefer the present life, 16 Whereas the Hereafter is better and everlasting. 17 This is surely in the earlier Books, 18 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
