The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Hallow thou the name of thine Lord, the Most High, 1 who created and shaped, 2 And who destined and [then] guided 3 and who brings forth herbage, 4 Then made it dry and dark. 5 We shall make you recite so that you will not forget, 6 Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden. 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 Only the wretch will turn aside, 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 Neither dying therein nor living. 13 He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself 14 And who mentioned the name of his Lord, then offered prayer. 15 But ye prefer the life of this world, 16 even though the life hereafter will be better and will last forever. 17 Verily! This is in the former Scriptures, 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
