The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who hath created and then proportioned, 2 who determined and guided, 3 And Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 Unless God may please. He knows the visible and knows what is hidden. 7 And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease. 8 Therefor remind (men), for of use is the reminder. 9 Those who have fear of God will benefit 10 But it will be avoided by the wretched, 11 even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, 12 Then he will neither die in it, nor live. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And mentions the name of his Lord and prays. 15 But rather you prefer the life of this world! 16 Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 This indeed is what is taught in the former scriptures -- 18 the revelations of Abraham and Moses. 19
