Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a high Garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
