Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
