Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets outspread. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
