Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
