Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
