Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions lined up 15 and outspread carpets. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
