Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
