Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
