Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And linen spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
