Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 with a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth how it has been spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
