Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 with a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
