Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
