Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and outspread carpets. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 you are not their keeper. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
