Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
