Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions lined up 15 And linen spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
