Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 and couches raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
